Healthy Land, Water and Food for Communities

ZEF helps farming families grow more, waste less and earn more from their land. We train farmers in modern, water-saving and climate-smart methods, support value addition and access to markets, and work towards goals that local communities set for themselves. ZEF works with communities to protect their environment and prepare for a changing climate. We plant trees and restore forests, conserve water, manage waste, promote clean energy, teach climate awareness and help communities reduce the risk of disasters.

Why It Matters

Most rural families depend on farming, yet yields are often low, water is scarce and weather is becoming less predictable. Farmers sell raw produce at low prices and many use pesticides and fertilisers without guidance, harming soil, water and health. Communities across Pakistan are living with the effects of a changing climate, from floods and heatwaves to drought. Deforestation, falling water tables and unmanaged waste make communities more vulnerable, and the poorest families are hit first and hardest.
