About This Training

ZEF's Modern Agriculture & Farm Management training is a practical programme of 3–6 months covering crop planning, soil, water, farm operations, protected agriculture such as tunnels, pest awareness, farm records and costing. You finish with a farm plan for a real or model farm.

Why 3 to 6 months? Every batch covers the same modules, practical work and assessments. Full-time weekday batches finish in about 3 months; part-time evening or weekend batches, and learners who need extra practice before the final assessment, take up to 6 months.

Benchmarked against the FAO Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) principles and GLOBALG.A.P. farm standards (awareness).

Modern planning, soil and water management, protected agriculture and proper records and costing. Many farmers use the training to cut waste and plan more profitable seasons.

Are there farm visits?

Yes. Hybrid and campus batches include visits to working farms and tunnel farming sites, subject to access, so you see methods in practice.

Does the training cover tunnel farming?

Yes, as part of protected agriculture: how tunnels work, suitable crops, costs and risks, so you can judge whether it fits your land and budget.
