About This Training

ZEF's Solar PV Installation & Maintenance training is a practical programme of 3–6 months that trains you to size, install, commission and maintain solar systems. Theory is online and practical work happens in the lab, ending with a commissioning test and a capstone system.

Why 3 to 6 months? Every batch covers the same modules, practical work and assessments. Full-time weekday batches finish in about 3 months; part-time evening or weekend batches, and learners who need extra practice before the final assessment, take up to 6 months.

Benchmarked against NAVTTC’s Solar PV Installer (NVQF Level 3, about 80% practical) and the six knowledge domains of the NABCEP PV Associate job task analysis: safety, core knowledge, sales and economics, design, installation, and operations and maintenance.

Questions

Do I need to be an electrician to join?

No. The training starts with electrical and solar fundamentals. Electricians progress faster, but beginners can succeed with regular lab attendance. Safety boots are required for all practical sessions.

Do I need to attend the lab in person?

Yes, for the practical sessions. Wiring, protection and commissioning must be practised and assessed on real equipment. Theory lessons are online to reduce travel.

Will this help me work abroad?

Solar installation skills are in demand in Pakistan and on Gulf and other renewable projects. Overseas work is subject to employer, licensing, visa and qualification-recognition requirements, and the training includes trade-test preparation.
