About This Training
ZEF's Renewable Energy Technician training is a practical programme of 3–6 months covering renewable energy basics, solar, battery storage, energy efficiency, small wind and other systems, installation and operations and maintenance. You finish with a practical renewable project.
Why 3 to 6 months? Every batch covers the same modules, practical work and assessments. Full-time weekday batches finish in about 3 months; part-time evening or weekend batches, and learners who need extra practice before the final assessment, take up to 6 months.
Benchmarked against NAVTTC’s competency-based (NVQF) approach, about 80% practical (renewable energy and Solar PV) and the NABCEP PV Associate knowledge domains.

Is there hands-on lab work?
Yes. You install and maintain solar, battery and trainer systems in the lab. Theory is online to reduce travel.
