About This Training
IPTC-5 Master Teacher & Instructional Leader is the fifth level of ZEF’s International Professional Teaching Certification, for experienced teachers, mentors and teacher trainers. It takes 6 months (24 weeks) with 150 hours of practical work: observation, mentoring, coaching, demonstration teaching, a teacher-training session, a school improvement project and action research.
Mapped to the competency areas of Pakistan’s National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST), NACTE teacher-education quality materials and UNESCO’s ICT Competency Framework for Teachers. Alignment means the curriculum is mapped to these competencies; it does not by itself confer external accreditation.

No. ZEF IPTC is a ZEF professional training and certification credential. Its curriculum is mapped to Pakistan’s teacher standards and international digital-teaching competencies, but it is not equivalent to a B.Ed., M.Ed., PGCE, QTS or a university degree unless formal recognition is obtained from the relevant authority.
How much practical teaching does IPTC-5 Master Teacher & Instructional Leader include?
IPTC-5 Master Teacher & Instructional Leader includes 150 hours of practical work. Practical teaching is required for the full award: you progress through observation, micro-teaching, supervised classroom practice, assessor observation, feedback (and remediation where needed) and a final demonstration. Online learners complete it in their own school or an approved practicum school with a mentor.
Who can join IPTC-5 Master Teacher & Instructional Leader?
IPTC-5 needs a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and at least 3 years of teaching experience; a previous IPTC level or equivalent competency is recommended. Recognition of prior learning can be considered through documented evidence and a competency assessment.
