About This Training

IPTC-2 Professional Teacher is the second level of ZEF’s International Professional Teaching Certification, for Primary and Middle School teachers. It takes 6 months (24 weeks, about 240–260 learning hours) online, on campus or hybrid, with 100 hours of practical teaching and a final teaching assessment.

Mapped to the competency areas of Pakistan’s National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST), NACTE teacher-education quality materials and UNESCO’s ICT Competency Framework for Teachers. Alignment means the curriculum is mapped to these competencies; it does not by itself confer external accreditation.

Questions

Is IPTC-2 Professional Teacher equivalent to a B.Ed. or M.Ed.?

No. ZEF IPTC is a ZEF professional training and certification credential. Its curriculum is mapped to Pakistan’s teacher standards and international digital-teaching competencies, but it is not equivalent to a B.Ed., M.Ed., PGCE, QTS or a university degree unless formal recognition is obtained from the relevant authority.

How much practical teaching does IPTC-2 Professional Teacher include?

IPTC-2 Professional Teacher includes 100 hours of practical work. Practical teaching is required for the full award: you progress through observation, micro-teaching, supervised classroom practice, assessor observation, feedback (and remediation where needed) and a final demonstration. Online learners complete it in their own school or an approved practicum school with a mentor.

Who can join IPTC-2 Professional Teacher?

IPTC-2 prefers an Associate or Bachelor’s degree. Teachers with an intermediate and relevant teaching experience may be accepted after a competency assessment. Completing IPTC-1 first is a natural route, and recognition of prior learning can be considered with documented evidence.
