About This Training
IPTC-1 Foundation Teacher is the first level of ZEF’s International Professional Teaching Certification, for Early Years and Primary teachers. It takes 4 months (16 weeks, about 160–180 learning hours) online, on campus or hybrid, and includes 60 hours of supervised practical teaching ending in a final observed lesson.
Mapped to the competency areas of Pakistan’s National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST), NACTE teacher-education quality materials and UNESCO’s ICT Competency Framework for Teachers. Alignment means the curriculum is mapped to these competencies; it does not by itself confer external accreditation.

Questions
Is IPTC-1 Foundation Teacher equivalent to a B.Ed. or M.Ed.?
No. ZEF IPTC is a ZEF professional training and certification credential. Its curriculum is mapped to Pakistan’s teacher standards and international digital-teaching competencies, but it is not equivalent to a B.Ed., M.Ed., PGCE, QTS or a university degree unless formal recognition is obtained from the relevant authority.
How much practical teaching does IPTC-1 Foundation Teacher include?
IPTC-1 Foundation Teacher includes 60 hours of practical work. Practical teaching is required for the full award: you progress through observation, micro-teaching, supervised classroom practice, assessor observation, feedback (and remediation where needed) and a final demonstration. Online learners complete it in their own school or an approved practicum school with a mentor.
Who can join IPTC-1 Foundation Teacher?
IPTC-1 is the entry level: you can join with an intermediate (FA/FSc) or equivalent, basic communication skills and basic computer literacy. ZEF may ask you to take a short admission or competency assessment first. After passing IPTC-1 you can progress to IPTC-2 Professional Teacher.
