Frequently Asked Questions

Who can apply for medicine or surgery support?

Poor and deserving patients who cannot afford their medicines, surgery or hospital care can apply, or a family member can apply for them. Low-income families, people with serious or chronic illness and patients referred by doctors or partner hospitals are typical cases.

What medical conditions are supported?

Support may be considered for serious and essential conditions such as heart, cancer and kidney-related illness, orthopaedic and trauma cases, child and neonatal conditions and maternal complications. Other specialist treatments are considered case by case, subject to medical review and approval.

What documents are required?

A CNIC or B-Form for the patient or guardian, the doctor’s prescription and medical reports, a hospital estimate or quotation and proof of income are required. Recent test results and imaging reports help too, if you have them. The form will not send without the required ones.

How long does the process take?

It depends on the case and on how quickly documents and the medical review can be completed. Urgent and critical cases are reviewed first. Our team keeps you informed and tells you if anything else is needed to decide your request.

Do you provide cash payments?

No. ZEF does not give cash to individuals. Approved support is paid directly to the partner hospital, pharmacy or authorised supplier, which keeps the help safe and makes sure it is used for the treatment it was approved for.

Can I apply on behalf of a family member?

Yes. Choose that you are asking for someone else, give the patient’s name and age, and attach their documents. We may also ask to speak with the patient or their doctor while checking the request.

Ask for Health Help
