About This Training

ZEF's Machine Maintenance Technician training is a practical programme of 4–6 months covering mechanical maintenance, bearings, belts and drives, lubrication, alignment, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis and maintenance planning. You train hands-on in the workshop.

Why 4 to 6 months? Every batch covers the same modules, practical work and assessments. Full-time weekday batches finish in about 4 months; part-time evening or weekend batches, and learners who need extra practice before the final assessment, take up to 6 months.

Benchmarked against the SMRP Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) domains and the NCCER Industrial Maintenance Mechanic modules.

Questions

What kind of machines will I work on?

Training rigs and machines with pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts and couplings, the same elements found in most factories and plants.

Is this suitable for helpers already working in factories?

Yes. Many helpers know parts of the job. This training gives the full method, safety and paperwork needed for a technician role.

What is preventive maintenance?

Planned checks and servicing that stop machines breaking down. You learn to plan it, record it and use it to reduce downtime, which employers value highly.
