About This Training

ZEF's GIS & Digital Land Surveying training is a practical programme of 3–4 months covering GIS concepts, coordinate systems, QGIS and ArcGIS, GPS data, mapping, spatial analysis and survey processing. You finish with a GIS project and published maps.

Why 3 to 4 months? Every batch covers the same modules, practical work and assessments. Full-time weekday batches finish in about 3 months; part-time evening or weekend batches, and learners who need extra practice before the final assessment, take up to 4 months.

Benchmarked against the Esri ArcGIS Pro Associate certification topics and NAVTTC’s surveying and GIS curriculum approach.

Questions

Is QGIS enough, or do I need ArcGIS?

QGIS is free and fully capable, and it is the main tool in the training. You also learn ArcGIS basics, because many employers use it. The concepts transfer between the two.

Is there field work?

Hybrid batches include GPS field practice. Online learners use sample field data and mobile GPS apps, so everyone learns the full workflow from field to map.

Who hires GIS technicians?

Development authorities, land and revenue departments, utilities, engineering consultants, NGOs and telecom companies, in Pakistan and on international infrastructure projects.
