About This Training

ZEF's Industrial Electrician training is a practical programme of 3–6 months covering electrical fundamentals, wiring, protection, motors, starters, panels, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. Most of the training is hands-on workshop practice with a practical assessment.

Why 3 to 6 months? Every batch covers the same modules, practical work and assessments. Full-time weekday batches finish in about 3 months; part-time evening or weekend batches, and learners who need extra practice before the final assessment, take up to 6 months.

Benchmarked against NAVTTC’s competency-based (NVQF) approach, about 80% practical (Electrician, NVQF Level 3) and the City & Guilds 2365 Electrical Installations units.

Questions

How much of the training is practical?

Most of it. You spend the majority of your time in the workshop wiring circuits, motors and panels. Theory is kept short and focused, and is available online.

Is it safe for beginners?

Yes. Safety comes first: you learn isolation, lock-out tag-out and testing before working on any circuit, always under instructor supervision on training equipment.

Will this help me pass a trade test abroad?

The training includes preparation for typical electrician trade tests. Overseas work is subject to employer, licensing, visa and qualification-recognition requirements.
