About This Training

ZEF's Electrical Technician & Industrial Controls training is a practical programme of 4–6 months covering industrial electrical systems, sensors, control circuits, motors, basic PLC, panel wiring and troubleshooting. You finish with a practical control panel project.

Why 4 to 6 months? Every batch covers the same modules, practical work and assessments. Full-time weekday batches finish in about 4 months; part-time evening or weekend batches, and learners who need extra practice before the final assessment, take up to 6 months.

Benchmarked against NAVTTC’s competency-based (NVQF) approach, about 80% practical (Electrical Technician) and the NCCER Industrial Maintenance Electrical & Instrumentation modules.

Questions

How is this different from Industrial Automation & PLC?

This training builds strong control-wiring skills with an introduction to PLCs. Industrial Automation & PLC goes deeper into programming, HMI and SCADA. Many learners take this training first.

Do I need electrical experience?

A DAE or some electrician experience is strongly recommended, because the training builds on basic electrical skills. Beginners should start with Industrial Electrician.

Is the training on real equipment?

Yes. You wire real sensors, relays, timers and PLC trainers in the workshop, and every practical is supervised.
