Frequently Asked Questions
Who can apply for a ZEF scholarship?
Each scholarship has its own criteria set by its sponsor, such as study level, institution, academic record, financial need and location. When a funded scholarship opens, ZEF publishes on this page who can apply, the documents needed and the deadline.
What types of support may be available?
Depending on funding: school bags, books and stationery; school fee assistance; college and university scholarships; and special assistance for students facing extra barriers. Student Education Assistance explains the eligibility, documents and selection method for each kind of help.
Are applications open now?
No. There is no open scholarship call at present. ZEF publishes an opportunity only when funding, eligibility criteria and selection rules have been approved. Register your interest and ZEF will tell you when an opportunity you may apply for opens.
Does registering interest guarantee assistance?
No. Registering interest only lets ZEF tell you about future opportunities; it is not an application. Assistance is subject to eligibility verification, sponsor approval and available funds, and applying does not guarantee selection.
What documents are required?
It depends on the kind of help: usually the student’s B-Form or CNIC, a parent or guardian’s CNIC, proof of enrolment or admission and an official fee voucher. Scholarships may also need a result card and an income declaration. Each opportunity lists its exact documents.
Can an organisation fund a scholarship?
Yes. Individuals, companies and organisations can fund scholarships for students who meet agreed criteria, such as a class, institution, district or field of study. Use Discuss Scholarship Funding and ZEF’s team will contact you about the options and how funds are reported.
How are scholarship recipients selected?
ZEF verifies admission, academic record, fees and financial need, applies the sponsor’s published criteria, and authorised staff review and approve each decision. Selected students and the sponsor are notified, and approved expenses are paid through the authorised route, preferably directly to the institution.
How will my information be used?
ZEF uses your information only to assess your application and to contact you about it. It is kept confidential, shared with a sponsor only where the programme requires it, and never published without your consent. Our privacy policy has the details.
